How do I order / purchase Polpred?

How to place an order for Polpred offshore tidal prediction software

Please state your area of interest as latitude / longitude limits (North, South, East, West and not as eastings/northings) and the time periods (years or months and years), together with your full contact details, and we will provide you with a quote.

Polpred is available both for Microsoft Windows or for Cloud (Web browser access).

If you are unsure as to what models or version you require please contact us and we will be happy to advise you.  Once we have established your requirements we  ask that you forward a PO so that an invoice can be raised.  Alternatively we can send a link to pay by card.

We will send the software on a USB and if required make it available to download.

About Polpred pricing
Pricing for Polpred is done in two parts: the software itself and the licence(s) to 'unlock' the software for specified areas and time periods. The software comes with one model as standard and the licence to predict is purchased based on the duration and the size of the area.

Polpred can be configured for any NOC model domain.
Polpred software + initial model domain = £550 + vat
Subsequent model domains (no licence): £305 + vat

The licence will depend on the model you are using, the geographic area and the time period required, (the minimum charge for a licence is £530+vat). The licence period is the period you want to be able to compute the tidal data for (hindcast or forecast), it is not how long the software itself will work, i.e. you will be able to compute predictions indefinitely but only for the time period you purchase.

We need to know your area of interest as latitude / longitude limits (North South East West, not as eastings/northings) and the time periods (years or months and years) and we will provide a precise quote.

Our Polpred discount scheme applies when more than one year is purchased at the same time: 30% discount on 2nd year and a further 40% discount on 3rd year.

Note that when using current predictions from grid cells nearest the coast we advise that they should be used with caution and regarded as a first order estimate. This is due to the model making use of the assumption of no flow normal to the model boundary.
